On January 31, only a few weeks before her tenth birthday, nine-year-old Alyssa Loya died unexpectedly. There were no specifics provided as to how she died.
Everyone, including her friends and family, is heartbroken by her demise, grieving over her loss, paying tribute to and expressing their condolences to Alyssa on social media.
“Alyssa, you are forever in our hearts and minds. My Princess, this is not the end of our goodbyes. When you say goodbye, it doesn’t mean that you’re going somewhere; it only means that you’ll see us again.
Alyssa is the adored daughter of Jennifer Gannaban, Carlos Castro (Stepfather), and Egwin Loya; the devoted sister of Vanessa Castro, Anthony Castro, and Logan Loya; and the cherished granddaughter of Cristeta (the late Joselito) Gannaban, Virginia, and Antonio Castro, Victoria Ponce, and the late Oscar Loya. She is also survived by numerous devoted cousins, friends, and aunts and uncles.
On February 8, 2023, a visitation was held from 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM. Funeral services were performed on Thursday, February 9, 2023, at 9:30 AM, leaving Curley Funeral Home, 6116 W. 111th St., Chicago Ridge, IL 60415, for St. Linus Church, 103rd Street & Lawler Avenue, Oak Lawn. 10:30 AM Mass Holy Sepulchre Cemetery interment.
The most loving child was Alyssa. She had a deep love for marine life, particularly dolphins. She enjoyed sketching, swimming, archery, and playing her favourite sports. But she cherished family trips the most. Alyssa left a lasting influence on everyone in her vicinity.
Alyssa was the beloved daughter. She was a strong-willed individual with a generous heart. Fundraising was also intended to aid with funeral costs and provide Jennifer with the opportunity to bury her precious daughter in the manner that she truly deserves.
