The death has been confirmed by the Party of the Democratic Revolution (PRD), which has expressed its condolences via Twitter.

This Sunday, after 4 in the morning, Leonel Luna, the former delegate of Álvaro Obregón, passed away in Mexico City, and candidate for federal deputy to the 17th federal district for the PRD, PAN, and PRI coalition.

According to information from the Prosecutor’s Office, Leonel Luna had a vehicle accident between Rio Churubusco and Biógrafos, in the El Sifón neighborhood, in the Iztapalapa delegation.

“In the PRD we regret the death of our colleague Leonel Luna Estrada, former delegate in Álvaro Obregón.   We express our sincere condolences to their families and loved ones, ”the party said.

The same was done by the Green Ecologist Party (PVEM), which in the same social network expressed: “In the Green Party we regret the sensitive death of Leonel Luna Estrada. Our condolences and solidarity with his family and friends. #QDEP ”.

Miguel Ángel Mancera also expressed his condolescence.

Leonel Luna Estrada made a call last September to form a broad front for citizens, organizations, and political parties to unite in a large block to generate actions for the benefit of the population.
