Luis Ángel Franco “El Flaco,” a former member of the Los Recoditos Band, faces the most incredible pain that one can experience as a father, by the loss of his daughter.

His daughter María Fernanda drowned on one of the beaches north of Mazatlán, Sinaloa, on Monday, August 14. The artist’s team confirmed the tragic news and asked for the prayers for the regional Mexican singer and his family.

According to the first reports from the local media in Mazatlán, the events occurred around 4:40 am on Monday, when the young woman went swimming at Cerritos beach, in Mazatlán, Sinaloa, along with someone else, but unfortunately she was not able to get out alive.

Lifeguards tried to rescue her but didn’t succeeded. Later the Mazatlan Aquatic Police arrived, but they could no longer locate the young woman; hours later, her body was dragged, but at that time, her identity was unknown.

Later they confirmed that it was María Fernanda body’s, the daughter of singer Franco. Her label confirmed the incident.

“Dear friends, family, and colleagues from the press: It is with deep sadness that I have to announce the departure of my beloved daughter María Fernanda. It is the greatest pain one can feel,” said the text. “I appreciate all the messages of support and love that I have received; I will be able to answer them later. I beg to understand the deep pain of this hard moment, and I will appreciate her empathy to respect my privacy. Thank you for understanding her.”

Who was Maria Fernanda?

María Fernanda was the daughter of Maricruz Robles, Franco’s ex-wife, but not the singer.

Although the couple separated years ago, Franco continued his relation as a father to the young woman since she grew up under his care when he adopted her.

María Fernanda studied cosmetology and had more than 4,000 followers on Instagram.

It was remarked in a post that, the young woman was passionate about travel since she constantly appeared in photos from tourist destinations, accompanied by her friends.

She is survived by her mother, Franco, and her two brothers, Angela, 19, and Luisito, 13, the singer’s children.

Many from Mexican region and friends of the artist have sent their condolences to the singer for the loss of his daughter.

One of the first to react was the band Los Recoditos through a post on their social media.

“Rest in peace, MARIA FERNANDA,” accompanied by an image that said, “We regret the sensitive death of María Fernanda, daughter of our former partner Luis Ángel “El Flaco,” to whom we send a hug and a lot of strength in these difficult times. May God grant early resignation to his family and friends. D.E.P”.

Lupillo Rivera joined the loss by posting the following words on his Instagram: “What a great sadness compa @luisangelelflaco. I send my condolences and prayers for you and your family… may your daughter Maria Fernanda rest in peace.”

Pancho Barraza joined the condolences on the same social network: “My family #BarrazaGonzález my wife @gabygonzalezh, and I are with you brother @luisangelelflaco.”

While Diana Reyes wrote on her profile, “I join the grief that our dear partner and friend @luisangelelflaco is experiencing. My deepest condolences”.
