Sad news from the movie world: Veronica Carlson, best known for her roles in ‘Dracula Returns’ and ‘Frankenstein Must Die’, has passed away. As confirmed on her Facebook page, the horror film icon has died at the age of 77.

“Veronica passed away this morning, we are in shock as a family,” read the post, published on February 27, 2022, on her Facebook page.
The official Hammer Gothic Twitter account followed with a poignant tribute to the late actress. It says: “According to her official Facebook page, actress and artist Veronica Carlson has died.
She was born on September 18, 1944, making her age 77.” Hammer Gothic continues, “She was a well-loved member of the Hammer family and starred in Dracula and Frankenstein. RIP.”
The popular actress also worked as a model. But Carlson was best known to fans for her roles in cult horror films. As Maria in “Dracula’s Return”, as Anna Spengler in “FrankensteinMust Die” and as Elizabeth Heiss in “Frankenstein’s Terror” she became famous worldwide. She also played the role of Wallis Ackroyd in 1972 in the television series “Spyder’s Web” in 13 episodes. Her last role was in the movie The Rectory, which IMDb says is currently in pre-production.
As well as her film roles, Veronica was also a keen artist – she even drew her co-star Christopher Lee while she was filming the Dracula movie with him.
Fans from all over the world say goodbye to the actress online. “Sad news. Like many others, I have had the good fortune to meet her at various conventions over the years. A classy woman in every way. My deepest condolences to her family,” wrote one fan. Another added, “I was 13 when I first saw Veronica on screen in “Dracula”. My life wasn’t the same after that… RIP.”
What Veronica Carlson died of is currently unknown. Shortly before her death, the actress had declared that she would attend the “Carolina Fearfest” fan convention in May 2022. Fans, therefore, assume that the horror queen died suddenly.
