It is very sad news that we learn this Easter Monday. Hip-hop has lost a legend. DJ Kay Slay, who we knew had been battling covid-19 for quite a while, has finally passed away. He died four months after being hospitalized with the virus. Legendary DJ, graffiti artist, the death of DJ Kay Slay has been confirmed to HipHopDX by veteran promoter Van Silk who told the American outlet that “hip-hop has lost a real gem”.
“My dear brother is gone. I’ve known him since he was 16. He was my little brother. I introduced him to a lot of people and we did a lot of things together. We spoke for the last time in December because we were finishing a project, “Rolling 200 Deep. He was going to do his video with MC Sha-Rock.”
While DJ Kay Slay is best known for his mixtapes, he also helped launch Straight Stuntin magazine and the entire What The Science project.
