Abel Rodríguez Died: What Was His Cause Of Death?

This Friday it was confirmed that Cuban actor Abel Rodríguez died after suffering a stroke in the city of Miami, United States, where he currently resided.

Abel Rodríguez, who had poor health three days ago while working at Telemundo and was hospitalized, was in a coma until this Friday morning.

His health had deteriorated in recent years due to diabetes due to which he had to live for several years undergoing dialysis for kidney failure.  In June of last year,  his health problems worsened and he had to undergo spinal surgery due to a complication with his spinal cord that caused severe back and leg pain. Although the surgery was a success, his complaints affected him during the last months of his life.

Cuban actor Abel Rodríguez, who was in Colombia starring in the novel La viuda de la mafia and later settled in the country for a few years, died this Friday in a Miami hospital, at the age of 50. Apparently, the actor, who was working at Telemundo in the set design area, had health problems that led him to be hospitalized for an apparent heart attack, however, his situation led to a coma, and then it was established that he would have suffered a stroke pulmonary.

Abel, who lived in Miami, along with his wife, Colombian actress Anna López, with whom he had been in a relationship for 11 years and they had a 9-year-old son, combined acting with behind-the-scenes work in recent years, as well as painting and home decoration work in La Florida. He had another older daughter named Paula, the result of a previous relationship with fellow actress Edith Massola. Paula wrote this emotional message saying goodbye to her father.

“Some say that I have your lips, and your nose, those who knew you and have talked to me told me that I reminded them of you, I don’t know, but I don’t doubt it. I have to use my imagination, the one that they say I also inherited from you, to create scenarios with you where I see you after so long when I was little I sometimes did: that you appeared at my school, or that you would come as a surprise, or I would visit you, Those scenarios are full of funny anecdotes, maybe you also created them in your mind at some point … and maybe they exist somewhere. Rest dad, peace and light for your soul I wish you with all my heart. Hopefully, wherever you are, you will read this ”.

The 50-year-old Rodríguez’s last acting jobs were alongside his countryman Lilo Vilaplana in the films Plantados and El Caballo, the latter of which was recently released.

Several colleagues and people in the middle spoke about it and regretted the news. One of them was the actor Julio César Herrera who said on his Twitter account: “Damn, sad news. Another companion that Part. Abel Rodríguez RIP ”
