Musa Yamak Died: What Was His Cause Of Death?

The German boxer collapsed before starting the third assault.

Turkish-born German boxer Musa Yamak died last Saturday after collapsing in the ring after suffering a heart attack during an evening in Garching, near Munich.

Yamak, 38, who debuted in 2017, was 8-0 (8 KOs) in his professional career, until his fight on Saturday, in which he faced Ugandan Hamza Wandera (20-19-3, 15 KOs). Before the start of the third round, Yamak felt sick and fell to the canvas unconscious .

The boxer received first aid in the ring from members of his team – according to them, they were later helped by people from the public – until the emergency services arrived. Previously the public had been evicted and chairs were moved aside, to be able to transfer Musa, who died in hospital.

According to the police, around 50 people had disturbed the rescue service since their arrival, due to what they considered a late intervention. The result, according to Bild, was that 15 patrols and a special police unit were mobilized to secure the area.
