Fighter Monique Janaína Piske, 32, died after suffering a heart attack at home, in Guaramirim, Santa Catarina, on Sunday night (2). The information was confirmed by the victim’s sister, Luciana Piske, in a publication on social networks. According to her, the athlete was found by her parents, lifeless.

Monique had been a fighter for about five years. In 2018, she was the first person from Santa Catarina to fight at the Portuarios Stadium and, in the same year and place, she won the 70kg category.

In addition to the national title, she was also two-time muay thai state champion, in addition to having won titles in the “Brazil Kickboxing Cup” and in the “Joinville Fight Night MMA”.

The fighter’s body is veiled this Monday afternoon (3) in Guaramirim and should be buried around 17:00 in the city of Jaraguá do Sul.

Monique was a resident of the Corticeira neighborhood and leaves behind her father, mother, sister and nephews. According to information disclosed by family members, the fighter will be veiled from 11:00 am this Monday (3) at the mortuary chapel of Guaramirim. At 5 pm, Monique’s body will be taken to the crematorium in the Nereu Ramos neighborhood, in Jaraguá do Sul, for a farewell ceremony.
