George Casey Death: Former Club Captain, Died Unexpectedly

Everyone at St Albans City Football Club is devastated to learn of the passing of former Saint George Casey, aged 26, on Aug 6, 2023.

The Norsemen Football Club announced his death through a social media post that reads:

“The club is deeply saddened to announce the passing of current Club Captain George Casey. Our thoughts are with his family at this extremely difficult time.

Walk Tall George.”

The reason for the talented player’s death is unknown at this time; may his family will reveal later about the cause or the circumstances surrounding his demise.

Information about the funeral and his last ceremonies are still pending; officials will be posted soon.

A heartfelt post shared on Facebook by Stevenage Football Club:

“We are all devastated to hear of the passing of former apprentice George Casey.

George’s dedication to his apprenticeship framework offered him a junior professional contract during the 2015/16 season.

George had an infectious personality, and it’s fitting the tributes that are going around about him.

Our thoughts are with his family and friends during this difficult moment.

Rest in peace, George.”

The former Stevenage, Saints’ League, and Chesham United player George Casey played professionally.

Casey joined Boro as a professional in May 2015 but was fired at the end of the previous season before playing a senior match.

In January 2016, Casey agreed on a month-long loan with St Neots Town of the Evo-Stik League Southern Premier Division. Earlier that year, he played sixteen games during a six-month loan with Chesham United, a division rival of the Saints.

George joined the Saints in August 2016 after being let go by Stevenage. They chose to prolong his loan till the conclusion of the 2015–16 season in light of his achievements with the Saints. George spent time on loan with Chesham United and St Neots in the 2015–2016 campaign.
