Brad Johnson is a retired American football quarterback who played in the National Football League (NFL) for 17 seasons. The Minnesota Vikings drafted him in the ninth round of the 1992 NFL Draft. He also played for the Washington Redskins, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Dallas Cowboys, New York Jets, and Houston Texans. In his career, he appeared in two Super Bowls, XXXVII and XXXVIII, both times as a member of the Buccaneers. He won Super Bowl XXXVII with the team.
Johnson was born in Marietta, Georgia. He attended Florida State University, where he played college football for the Seminoles from 1987 to 1991. However, he was inducted into the FSU Hall of Fame in 2007.
He was drafted by the Vikings in the ninth round of the 1992 NFL Draft. He played for the Vikings from 1992 to 1998 and was a member of the team that lost to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Super Bowl XXXVII.
In 1999, Johnson signed with the Redskins, where he played for two seasons. He then played for the Buccaneers from 2001 to 2004, winning Super Bowl XXXVII with the team. He was released by the Buccaneers after the 2004 season and signed with the Cowboys. He played for the Cowboys for two seasons before being released and signing with the Jets. Although, he was released by the Jets after one season and signed with the Texans, where he played his final season in 2010.
