The Peruvian writer and educator Pedro Novoa Castillo died of colon cancer, a disease that was diagnosed in September 2020 when he was already in the terminal stage.
Through social networks, the friends and colleagues of Novoa released the sad news. The president of the Peruvian Book Chamber and writer, Willy del Pozo, shared a heartfelt message on Facebook.
“The writer Pedro Félix Novoa Castillo has just left for eternity. A great friend, a good father, an exemplary husband, and an important cultist of letters. May the hereafter be conducive to you and rest with the classic authors you have loved since you were a child. Something dies in the soul when a friend leaves, “he wrote.

In October 2020, he was admitted to the Rebagliati hospital, after a few weeks he was referred to his home. Doctors told him that there was nothing more to do for his health.
Despite this, Novoa Castillo continued to fight to recover. He had several pending goals, one of them was to finish ” Metamorphosis 2.0″, a novel that he began to write in 2019.
