Troy Dettinger, the fire chief at Union Fire & Hose Company, died suddenly on Wednesday, November 30, 2022. The West York Fire Department, regretfully announcing Firefighter/Operator Troy Dettinger’s passing, announced his decease. We shall always adore him and our memories of him. Troy’s line will be kept open for us. Please pray for his family, departments, and the areas he served.

The community of West York Borough and his volunteer Chief Position at Dover Borough have benefited from Troy’s services as an operator since his 2014 hiring as a part-time employee. Troy was a fantastic friend and asset. He consistently offered his assistance, helped mentor the next generation, and gave back to his communities.

Chief Dettinger has collaborated on a wide range of incidents and events with numerous members of Station 6 and several members of Station 9. There have been several instances of this partnership. Thanks to their joint efforts, the two stations could complete the project to the fullest extent possible.
