On December 5, 2022, Mackenzie Reese Goudie posted on Facebook to share the sad news that Matt Goudie had passed away. Our dear friend Matt passed away on November 26, early Saturday morning. He received the best care right away, yet he suffered severe, permanent brain damage. He remained unconscious until the afternoon of Saturday, December 3, when he passed away and was taken to be with the Lord.
A devout Christian, Matt Goudie was a devoted husband, son, brother, and friend. The fact that Matt was a God-fearing, kind, hardworking, and humble man can be attested to by anyone who had the chance to spend time with and get to know him.
His friends and family are all grieving, praying for him, and posting tributes and condolences on social media. At 2 p.m. on Wednesday, December 7, the funeral will be held at West End Church (802 Shepherd Dr., Houston, TX 77007). There will after that be a reception at the church.
Everyone who got to know Matt was aware of his kindness, love, work ethic, humility, and love for his wife, friends, and family. His comprehensive, open heart allowed him to love well. He was not afraid to take on challenging jobs and eagerly offered assistance to people around him.
He assisted his wife in the children’s ministry at his home church, West End, and was a committed participant in the Young Couples, small group.
Our prayers, love, and support are needed for his wife, Mackenzie, and their families. Additionally, consider providing material aid to lessen the financial strain of medical, living, and memorial expenses. A gofundme page has been created to collect donations to assist the family.
