Ingrid Nunez, a Cornell University grad, tragically passed away surrounded by her loved ones. On Sunday, November 13, 2022, social media began reporting Ingrid’s passing. The news of Ingrid Nunez’s passing has devastated her friends and family.

After a courageous battle with cancer, Ingrid died away. She was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer on March 30, 2011. Concerning funeral plans, nothing is known at this time. Everyone is upset, paying her honor and praying for her in their thoughts and prayers.

In 2022, Ingrid Nunez starts a career in business. She previously held the position of Associate Professor at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGSInstituto )’s de Informatica in Porto Alegre, Brazil. Her study of software engineering focuses on adaptive systems and software design, implementation, and development.

She has also contributed to the research of explainable artificial intelligence, decision support, recommender systems, and distributed artificial intelligence (multi-agent systems).

She received the Research Productivity (PQ) Fellowship Level 2 from CNPq as a professor between 2016 and 2021, given to Brazilian scholars who are more productive than average.

At the universities of RWTH Aachen, Klagenfurt University, and TU Dortmund in Germany, she serves as a visiting faculty (Germany). With the top honors, Dr. Nunez graduated from UFRGS with a bachelor’s degree in computer science in 2006 and was also given the Prêmio Destaque Universitário em Informática (SEPRORGS) and Homenagem Aluno Destaque (Brazilian Computer Society) awards.

She graduated with an MS in Computer Science in 2009 and a Ph.D. in Computer Science in 2012 from the Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro (PUC-Rio).

Ingrid earned her Ph.D. at King’s College London (UK) along with Dr. Sandwich. a three-month research project at the University of Waterloo, and a one-year program (Canada).

The Google Women in Technology Award was presented to her in 2008. (Google). She worked as a software engineer from 2005 to 2007 and is currently a postdoctoral fellow at the PUC-Rio Software Engineering Laboratory
(LES).
