Christian Toby Obumseli was stabbed to death. 

A Christian Toby Obumseli was stabbed to death after he was allegedly involved in a domestic dispute with his partner, according to authorities, who responded to the emergency call in a luxurious Miami building.

Friends of the man who died say that he lived in the One Paraíso building with his girlfriend Courtney Courtney Tailor. The two would have moved together from Austin, Texas, a couple of years ago.

According to police, around 5 p.m. Sunday they responded to the luxury building in Edgewater, located at 3131 Northeast 7th Avenue.

Their officers found a 27-year-old man allegedly stabbed after a domestic incident. Although the victim was transported to Jackson Memorial Hospital, he died as a result of his injuries.

Friends of the man identified him as Christian Toby Obumseli, who lived with his girlfriend Courtney Tailor in the One Paraíso condominium.

The police arrested a woman in relation to the stabbing and the apartment association where they lived confirmed in a brief statement to their tenants that a domestic altercation had indeed occurred, but they did not give more details about it.

Friends of Obumseli now remember him as a kind and caring young man and say they still can’t come to terms with his death.

“He had a lot of energy, he was bright, intelligent, he made anyone smile,” recalls his friend Josh Ramsey, who along with other friends of the couple is shocked by the murder.

“These are our two friends that we’ve gone on vacation with, we go out to dinner, we go out on the town with them, and it looks like something out of a police documentary,” Ramsey said.

“We never would have imagined it would have escalated to this point. I think I speak for our entire group of friends, we are shocked. Very distressed about this.”

There is still very little information about the woman and we know that she is receiving psychiatric care. The investigation into the deadly incident continues.
