Trenton Montero passed away on Wednesday night while undergoing surge
- Before the incident, Trenten Montero and Maria Montero had just given birth to their first child.
His death was confirmed through a social media post that mentioned below:
“I posted a couple of weeks ago about a fellow college rodeo team member Glen Montero’s son Trenton was in a bad wreck in Idaho. The horse he was on flipped over and smashed him. He was hurt badly. Numerous internal injuries and numerous surgeries over the past few weeks. The young man passed away today. This is a tragedy. From what I understand, he was an incredible young man with a beautiful wife and new born baby son. Our heart goes out to the Montero family during this terrible time.”

Trenten Montero rides bareback professionally and is from Winnemucca, Nevada. He has become well-known in rodeo due to his recurring eligibility for the National Finals Rodeo (NFR).
Montero began competing in professional rodeos in 2005 and has been doing so since childhood.
Among the many honors and trophies he has won over his career are the Reno Rodeo Xtreme Bulls championship in 2015 and the California Rodeo Salinas championship in 2017.
