On Thursday night, a deadly car crash happened at 9 p.m. on 908 Skunk Run Road. Mercer County coroner John Libonati identified the students as James Harrison, who was 18 years old and Aliya Harvey and Harmony Leige both were 17 years old. These three student of Lakeview High School succumbed to their injuries due to a fatal crash.
According to the reports, Mercer PSP confirmed that police, along with the crew from Stoneboro volunteer fire company and Sandy Lake Fire Rescue, reached the location and found the car engulfed in fire.
According to the police, the crash happened when it lost control when they were trying to steer a curve in the roadway. The loss-control vehicle collided with a group of trees, leading it to spin and catch fire.
Police were informed about the fatal crash through an automatic crash notice by an Apple iPhone that pinned and traced the location of Skunk Run Road.
District Superintendent Keith Wolfe said that due to in-service days, students would only be scheduled to be in school on Friday.
Once the student returns, grief counseling and support services will be provided to the students in the presence of ministers in school; however, students are still welcome to school on Friday to support their loved ones and fellow students.

On passing the student, Lakeview School officially released a statement on Friday morning praising their student and sharing the grief.
“We will work together to offer comfort and support to the families and friends who are undoubtedly facing an unimaginable loss. As a community, we understand the importance of standing together during such trying times.
“Although there is no school today for our students, the Middle-High School will be open if students would like to come together to share support for each other.
