The Cate Brothers Band’s veteran drummer Terry Cagle has passed away. Ralph Terry Cagle passed away on February 12, 2023, a Sunday. George’s Majestic Lounge reported the demise of Terry Cagle in a Facebook post on Sunday, February 12, 2023.
“We were shocked to learn of Terry Cagle’s passing this morning. He was Levon Helm’s nephew and the drummer for the renowned Cate brothers band Earl & Them. Everyone will miss him; may he rest in peace.”
Terry Cagle was suffering from heart problems and pneumonia. Complications from heart failure claimed Terry Cagle’s life.
Officials may reveal burial plans at a later time. Everyone is mourning Terry’s passing, remembering him, and expressing their condolences to him on social media.
“Deepest condolences were sent in a post by White Water Tavern to the bandmates and several family members of the oh-so-special Cagle, who heartbreakingly passed away. We are incredibly appreciative for every appearance he made on our stage throughout the years, most recently on December 18. We appreciate and adore you, brother.”

While he was born in Helena in Phillips County, Arkansas, in 1050, he spent most of his time in Turkey Scratch. He was an untrained drummer. After joining Cate Brothers in 1966, he quickly gained notoriety and power.
The Cate Brothers performed country soul music in Arkansas and the mid-South United States in the middle of the 1960s. Earl and Ernie Cate are identical twin brothers from Arkansas. They were born on December 26, 1942. Terry Cagle later became a member of the Arkansas Hall of Fame.
He started his band, the Jungle Bush Beaters, in the 2000s. He gave his uncle’s name to this band. In Fayetteville, Arkansas, this band enjoyed enormous popularity. But it won’t be the same following Cagle’s passing.
