On Tuesday, March 7, 2023, Ronnie Leach, an acclaimed and award-winning writer with over thirty years of experience in Canadian casting, passed away tragically and abruptly, leaving behind devastated family members and other loved ones.
The cause of death is kept private. Officials may reveal funeral arrangements at a later time. Everyone, including his friends and family, paid respect to him and expressed their condolences on social media as they missed him and remembered him.

Ron was a titan of the motion picture business and an amazing, gifted individual. You will be sorely missed, Director, writer, and well-known Canadian casting director, who last year alone cast over 90 films. Ron Leach, who won the 2018 Casting Director of the Year award from the International Association of Top Professionals (IAOTP), is an internationally renowned Casting Director, Producer, celebrated Director, and Acting Teacher.
He is a top casting director in Canada, casting independent movies, TV shows, plays, and commercials for various companies, including Hallmark, Lifetime, MarVista Entertainment, CTV, Anchor Bay, CBS, FOX, Paramount, Global Television, and many others.
Ron has directed twelve short films that have won international awards in the last ten years, including Altarcations (winner of nine international Awards and programmed in twenty international film festivals to date), Helpline, Shaky Grounds (which was selected as an Official Selection at five international film festivals and won two international prizes), and (Official Selection in 2 International Film festivals).
Ron participated in 2012, 2013, and 2015 Oaxaca International Film Festival juries. He founded the Writers Roundtable in Oaxaca and continues to act as a mentor at the Festival event and its sister programme Pitchfest. He has also served as a jury for the On The Fly Film Festival, the International Emmy Awards, the Genie Awards, and the International Emmy Awards.
