Rocky Mountain College athlete student injured in Saturday shooting incident in billing. The man was identified as an 18-year-old student who was a football player at Rocky Mountain College and a resident of Crystal River, Florida.
How did the incident happen?
According to the Billings Police Department, Lt. Lennick, at around 6:00 a.m. on Saturday, officers responded to the call of a man being deadly gunshot that occurred on the 900 block of Poly Drive. The area of Poly Drive between Glenwood Drive and Michigan Avenue was cordoned off by Boston police department officers, where one automobile was seen being parked at the closed-off section of Poly Drive.
After reaching the scene, the police found a man lying on the ground with life-threatening gunshot wounds and was taken to Billings Hospital. The man later was identified as Chandler Stalcup, who was a freshman at Rocky Mountain College and a defensive lineman for the battling Bears.
According to BDP Lt. Lennick, no arrests had been made until Sunday afternoon, and the injured boy was sent to the hospital due to life-threatening injuries.
Neighbours of the 1490 Sourdough Lane triplex apartment said the residents were quiet. Mathew Callahan, who lives down the road, watched police enter apartment C.
Boston police Department Lt.Matt Lennick says a 16-year-old man from Billings has been arrested on the charge of deliberate homicide and remanded into youth custody.
On Saturday afternoon, Rock Mountain College management announced that all athletic contests would be postponed till further notice. However, it has not been confirmed if the postponement has been linked to the Chandler Stalcup deadly shooting.
The investigation is still ongoing and will soon be updated when the official releases some news regarding the deadly shot incident.
