Influencer Carlinhos Maia used social media this Wednesday (4) to pay tribute to forró singer and songwriter Rita de Cássia, who died in Fortaleza at the age of 50.

“Thank you for all the songs, including the most beautiful of our forró. It’s great that I could live such a beautiful moment with you”, she said.

Carlinhos recalled a video published by Rita de Cássia in October 2019, which recorded the first meeting of the two in Penedo, Alagoas, Carlinhos’ hometown. In the video, the influencer appears “crowning” the singer (watch above).

When sharing the moment, Rita de Cássia wrote: “In my heart, there is no room for the joy and love that this enlightened being passes on in such a grand gesture, I received a coronation from the greatest in Brazil, my beautiful @carlinhosmaiaof her companion @lucasguimaraes and all the loves of your troupe of joy and good, thank you for the incredible moments I lived with you”.

Rita de Cássia died this Tuesday (3). She had been admitted to a private hospital in the capital of Ceará since January 1, where she was being treated for pulmonary fibrosis.

Known as one of the main forró composers in the country, her songs were recorded by bands and artists such as Mastruz com Leite, Amelinha, Aviões do Forró, and Frank Aguiar. Their compositions include “Meu Vaqueiro, Meu Peão”, “Saga de um Vaqueiro” and “Jeito de Amar”.
