Racing Legend Marty Ward Dies of Heart Attack in Greenville, Sc

Today South Carolina racing legend Marty Ward, a racer at Anderson Motor Speedway and a six-times Greenville-Pickens Speedway Champion, has sadly departed, leaving the racing community in deep grief and sorrow.

Marty Ward passed away last night after suffering a massive heart attack right after running and winning the first race of 2 at Anderson Speedway S.C. In the late model race.

Anderson Motor Speedway confirmed his death. Our prayers are with his family and loved ones during their hard times.

In Anderson County, South Carolina, there is a car racing track called the Anderson Motor Speedway Inc., where Marty Ward competed. The Anderson Motor can be found in Williamston, South Carolina, at 313 Irby Road.

Marty was always very nice and gave kind words to everyone if any talked to him, and his knowledge about late-model stock car racing was huge and very valuable.

Marty was a true legend of the sport and a major contributor to stock car racing, especially S.C. racing. Marty will be truly missed by everyone that knew him.
