Phil Spalding Death: Obituary, Cause Of Death, Funeral

English bassist Phil Spalding, 65, died tragically. The session musician and Fender Precision Bass player Philip Spalding, also known to many as Phil Spalding, passed away early yesterday morning. Regarding his actual cause of death, no information is provided.

The authorities might reveal the burial services at a later time. Everyone is mourning and remembering Phil Spalding, including friends and relatives, and expressing their sympathies to him on social media.

“It is with great sadness that we learn of the demise of Phil Spalding, bassist for numerous bands and musicians, Elton John, Seal, Mike Oldfield, and OMD. I was most impressed with Phil’s work when he worked with Toyah from 1981 to 1982. On Dubstar’s Disgraceful and Goodbye albums, he also contributed the bass line. Toyah’s Warrior Rock performance in support of The Changeling album in July 1982 was the first concert I ever attended (at Hammersmith Odeon, as it was called), and it was a fantastic show. To understand why to listen to the live album.

My heart goes out to Phil’s loved ones and friends.”

Bassist Philip Spalding was born in London, England, on November 19, 1957. He was well known for playing Fender Precision Bass guitars and working as a session musician. He has shared the stage and performed alongside musicians like Mick Jagger, Seal, Orchestral Maneuvers in the Dark, Randy Crawford, and Elton John.

He was a famous child model when he was little and had an appearance in a Smiths Crisps television commercial. Before joining rock musician Bernie Torme in 1976, Spalding worked as a computer operator for a high street bank. Later, he became a member of Original Mirrors before starting to work with Toyah in December 1980.

He performed on tour with The Toyah Band until 1983, recording and co-writing songs for studio albums. He has since played with Mike Oldfield’s band and GTR. He made an appearance on albums by Michel Polnareff, Suggs, Robbie Williams, Kylie Minogue, and more recently.
