Nicolas Schindelholz Cause Of Death – What Happened To Him?

Swiss football player  Nicolas Schindelholz died at the age of 34 from lung cancer. This news was also confirmed by Swiss Basel on its official website.

Schindelholz played for several Swiss clubs, Basel, Thun, Luzern and Aarau. He was also the captain of the U-21 team of Basel while our Ivan Rakitić and Mladen Petrić played for the club.

His last club in his career was FC Aarau, Schindelholz found out about his serious illness in 2020, and ended his playing career a year later.

His former teammates from Aarau learned the sad news after the Swiss Cup match when the official announcer announced on the loudspeaker that their former defender had lost his battle with a serious illness.

All of us at FC Aarau are very sad and sympathize with Nicolas Schindelholz’s family. Our thoughts are now with his family and four children, said Philipp Bonorand, president of that Swiss club.
