According to our research, this report is entirely false, or others are simply trying to propagate rumors about her to upset the public and peak their curiosity.

Mikski is doing great, getting along with her family and friends, and having a great time with her best buddies.

American singer-songwriter Mitski Miyawaki, born Mitsuki Laycock on September 27, 1990, also goes by the stage name Mitski.

According to Mitski, she is “half Japanese, half American, but not fully either,” this description of her multicultural identity is frequently mirrored in her music, which periodically addresses concerns of belonging.

While Mitski has defined herself as “Asian American,” she does not always conceive of herself that way because “she would just say she’s American.” She has voiced concern with using the terms “Japanese American” or “Japanese.”

Mitski has been a resident of Nashville, Tennessee, since 2020. She enjoys horror movies, is vegan, and has two cats as pets.

Mitski self-released her first two recordings, Lush (2012) and Retired from Sad, New Career in Business (2013), while studying studio composition at Purchase College’s Conservatory of Music.

These collections were originally part of her senior project at Purchase. Her third studio album, Bury Me at Makeout Creek, was released by Double Whammy in 2014 following her graduation.

After that, in 2015, Mitski joined Dead Oceans and went on to create the critically praised albums Puberty 2 (2016), Be the Cowboy (2018), and Laurel Hell (2022), the latter of which reached the top ten in several countries. The Guardian’s Ben Beaumont-Thomas labeled her the “best young songwriter” in the country in 2022.

In 2022, she collaborated on the song “This Is a Life” for the film Everything Everywhere All at Once, which gained her an Academy Award nomination for Best Original Song.
