The search for the missing student has finally ended as the authorities found the body of the student in Galway, the smallest of the Aran Islands, on Monday, 13 November.

The 23-year-old student of the University of Limerick, whose name has been revealed as Robert Funke, had been missing since Sunday, 5 November. According to the reports, he was last seen in the Dromroe Village area in Limerick City.
Robert Funke was a first-year International student from Germany at Limerick University, earning his MA degree in European studies. Robert had a huge friend circle, and the missing news led them to his thorough search.
On November 9th, 30 students from the University of Limerick formed their five search parties to identify their friend Robert Funke. The students requested to collaborate with the Postgraduate Student Union for an appropriate search for the missing student.
The students started their search from Annacotty to the City Center. They placed posters of Robert around the university premises that showed his physical appearance and the last sight of the missing student.
According to the source, it was later identified that Robert was seen in Co Clare. Gardaí searched with the collaboration of Doolin and Kilkee units, Irish Coast Guards, the Shannon-based Search and Rescue helicopter, and Clare civil defense.
On Monday, 13 November, the body of Robert Funke was found by a member of the Inis Oirr unit of the Irish Coast Guard on the shoreline of Inis Oirr.
