Michelle died on Wednesday, 29 November 2023, after being fatally gunshot on a Carey road in Columbiana County. The sad news was announced by the Leetonia school district on their Facebook page. The tragic death has shattered the Leetonia High School teachers and students, followed by heartfelt outpourings from those who had shared their moments with her.

Michelle Long was an esteemed and honorable teacher and coach at Leetonia High School. She had a remarkable academic background and exceptional professional experience. She earned her degree in integrated mathematics at Kent State University from 2010 to 2014. Michelle further pursued her education and, from 2016 to 2018, earned a Master of Arts in secondary education and teaching.
Michelle started her career as a mathematics teacher at Carrollton High School from August 2014 to May 2015. Later, she joined John G. Cleminshaw Inc. where she performed her role as a Commercial Desktop Lister. Michelle spent 19 years and nine months of her dedicated services till September 2016. Michelle was later appointed as a mathematics/STEM teacher at Leetonia High School, where she specialized in courses including mathematics, technology, industry, and science and fostered academic growth with complete dedication.
What happened to Michelle Long?
Sheriff’s office released their statement on the incident about Michelle’s long. On Wednesday before 9:30 pm, a Deputy Sheriff responded to the report of a woman who had a gunshot in Carey Road in Butler Township. When the deputy arrived at the location, they found the dead body of a woman who was 50 years old and died due to a gunshot wound. The dead body was then identified as Michelle Long, who was a dedicated educator at Leetonia High School.
The matter is under active investigation by the Columbiana County deputy sheriffs. The deputy requests that those with any information regarding the matter share it with the authorities to conclude the investigation.
