Authorities are looking into a Thursday incident at housing for Columbia University students.

Reports state that on March 30, 2023, a Columbia University student committed suicide. The fatal incident occurred in the Wien Residence Hall at 411 West 116th Street in New York, New York.

According to sources, the unidentified person was reportedly found on the student’s floor of the hostel.

After jumping down the student’s dorm, the person, who was eventually identified as McLeod Buckham White, passed away. According to an email given to the community on Friday by Columbia College Dean Josef Sorett and School of Engineering and Applied Science Dean Shih-Fu Chang, McLeod Buckham-White, a student and former member of the football team, has passed away.

Buckham-White was raised in Atlanta, Georgia, and studied economics with a major in psychology.

The specifics of the funeral plans may be revealed later. After learning of McLeod Buckham’s passing, everyone is shocked and appalled at losing such a wonderful guy.

The administration of Columbia University has not made any official statements regarding this ongoing problem.
