She was 58-year-old age. Tár, whose prodigious career spanned three decades and several genres, was widely considered one of her period’s most important and inventive musicians.

World-renowned composer-conductor Lydia Tár served as the Berlin Philharmonic’s inaugural music director. Young women pursuing conductor careers in traditionally male-dominated professions look up to Lydia as a mentor and role model. She even directs a fellowship programme to assist young women in going beyond the obvious and exploring music more deeply.
LydiaTár is one of the most significant musicians. She holds degrees in piano playing from the Curtis Institute, musicology with a PhD from the University of Vienna, where she focused on indigenous music from the Ucayali valley in eastern Peru, and Phi Beta Kappa from Harvard.
LydiaTár began her career as a conductor, or maestro, with the Cleveland Orchestra before moving on to the Philadelphia Orchestra, the Chicago Symphony, the Boston Symphony Orchestra, the New York Philharmonic, and ultimately being chosen as the primary conductor for Berlin. She was Leonard Bernstein’s student and is one of the rare individuals with an EGOT (Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, Tony).
After one of her former students, Krista, commits suicide and leaves behind a note full of charges against Lydia, a court dispute between Lydia and her parents results from Lydia’s inappropriate behaviour with her. This sparks a string of incidents that end up in the news, resulting in demonstrations against Lydia’s upcoming book.
