Luke Bell, a leading figure in country music, was reported missing for more than a week before being found dead in Tucson, Arizona, at 32. The “heartbreaking” news was confirmed by Bell’s buddy and fellow country musician Matt Kinman to the music portal Saving Country Music.
Musician Matt Kinman, a long-time friend of Bell’s, confirmed the information to Saving Country Music. Bell was with Kinman when he died. According to the blog, the musician was found on Monday “not far from where he disappeared, and in a manner, we all imagined he would be when we first got the news.”
It’s thought that Bell visited Tucson for a concert. The cause of his death has not been revealed. According to Kinman, a recent change in his medication may have “played a role” in his disappearance. Kinman revealed to the music site the Boot that his friend had been diagnosed with bipolar disorder.
Bell, born on January 27, 1990, in Lexington, Kentucky, and was reared in Cody, Wyoming, left the University of Wyoming and relocated to Austin, Texas, to pursue a career in country music. As he continued to perform at neighborhood venues, he was recognized as a popular face across the Austin region. Bell was single at the time of his passing. He discussed how he was committed to advancing his career in Music City during an interview in June 2016.
