The Lucky Eagle Casino and Hotel has been closed due to the officer-involved shooting that occurred inside the casino; the shooting occurred on Sunday evening. The incident resulted in a wave of shock among people as the casino is meant for joy, and people thought the incident was inappropriate for shooting in such a place.
How did the shooting occur?
According to the post of Thurston County Sheriff’s Office’s Facebook page, the shooting occurred on the evening of December 10th when the Deputies and Chehalis Tribal Police were on their route to capturing the suspect in the Rochester area with the arrest warrant of 1st-degree murder and unlawfully possession of firearm 2nd degree from pierce county.
According to the reports, law enforcement authorities received information that the suspect they were searching for had been seen inside the Lucky Eagle Casino. After reaching the casino, the officer with the Chehalis Tribal Police shot the subject. Officers and deputies were immediately given aid to the subject, but unfortunately, later, he was pronounced dead.
The incident involves the Chehalis tribal police in their authority, resulting in the FBI and Bureau of Indian Affairs contact and an active investigation started by the Thurston County Sheriff’s Office.
The officer-involved shooting incident resulted in the temporary closure of Lucky Eagle and Casino Hotel due to the fatal shooting. The details regarding the casino’s opening will be provided after further notice.
The authorities have not yet disclosed the circumstances that resulted in the tragic incident; however, the investigation will continue over the next week with proper research about the incident, contacting eyewitnesses, and gathering information.
