Leon Bachteler, a Hunter College of High School student in the quaint Carnegie Hill neighbourhood on the Upper East Side of Manhattan, took his own life on 8 October 2023, at the age of 16, by committing suicide.
The circumstances of his suicide are under active investigation. However, the tragic incident sparks the truth of mental health illness, especially in teenagers, devoted and brilliant students who had a great vision for life.
