Lauri Carleton, Store Owner, Got Murdered at Lake Arrowhead

On Friday evening, Aug 18, 2023, a heartbreaking incident happened at Lake Arrowhead, where a cherished clothing owner, Lauri Carleton, got murdered by someone as she showed respect and pride to the LQBT flag outside her store.

Per the reports of San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department officials, the murderer made harsh and disrespectful comments about the pride flag.

When law enforcement agencies reached the tragedy point at five o’clock in the evening, they spotted the 66-year-old lady, the owner of the Magpi clothing business, located on Hook Creek Road; they found Laura Ann Carleton suffering from fatal gunshot injuries. Later, on the spot, she was declared deceased by the clinician.

When authorities started looking for the murderer, they got the reports the man who did the murder was spotted on Torrey Road east of Highway 173, place around one mile north of the store, and police caught him under their custody.

Certain circumstances forced the SB County Deputies to shoot the man, who refused to put down his weapon. No immediate statement was released about the police. In the future, they may explain why they did this act.

The identity of the murderer is not disclosed at this time; when his family recognizes him, they will be revealed.

One of the representatives of the LGBTQ given his views about the fatal tragedy that happened by saying that Carleton, the beloved lady, never showed up as a member of the LGBTQ+ community; she tried to spend her time serving and favoring everyone in the community.

Her loving husband and nine children survive Carleton. Information about the funeral and obituary of  Lauri Carleton will be posted by the family when they finalize them.

Condolences:

“Deeply saddened to learn of the senseless murder of Laura Ann Carleton (who went by Lauri). Suppose you don’t know Lauri, who owned 2 Mag. Pi stores–one in Studio City and the other in Cedar Glen; she was an amazing woman and a force for good in our community.

I only knew of Lauri through my son, Daniel, who worked with her when she organized a massive effort to distribute food and critical supplies during the massive snowstorm that crippled our community several months back.

According to multiple news reports, she was shot and killed over a dispute over a Rainbow Flag by an unknown male suspect, who was later shot and killed by SB County Deputies after he refused to put down his gun.

This hatred and violence are not welcome in our community, and we need to pray and support Lauri’s family and friends.

May she rest in peace?

Godspeed.”
