Kian Brown, a Wilmington, North Carolina citizen and national vice president of the alumni association at North Carolina Central University, has sadly gone away.
On Tuesday, May 2, 2023, at the age of 40, he passed away from a cardiac episode, leaving his loved ones in shock.
It is with great regret that we announce the demise of Kian McKinley Brown, a cherished son, brother, and friend, as stated in a message on his Facebook page on Thursday. His demise occurred on May 2, 2023.
The family will later publish Kian Brown’s obituary. On social media, everyone paid respect to him and sent their sympathies.

Born on November 16, 1982, Kian had a life full of love, humour, generosity, and a selfless commitment to giving back to the community. His demise occurred on April 1, 2019. He studied at North Carolina Central University from 2000 to 2006, where he received a Bachelor of Arts in History Education.
Between August 2019 and May 2021, he continued on to complete his Master of Arts in Educational Technology and Instructional Design.
Kian was the kind of person who would work very hard and be very committed to whatever he was doing; as a result, he was quite successful in his career while still maintaining a humble attitude.
His infectious smile, his approachable demeanor, and the steadfast devotion he showed to his loved ones will live on in the memories of all who knew him. For him, these events will always be remembered.
A multifaceted professional, Kian Brown wanted to build brands, help the next generation, and give back to the area where he resided.
He was chosen for the 2018 class of the Most Influential People of African Descent because his key motivators have always been the spirit of enterprise and unfailing compassion. He was selected for this honour in part because of this.
