The news about the passing of former Selangor Menteri Besar, Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim that spread on social media is not true.
According to his former political secretary, Faekah Husin in a statement just now, Abdul Khalid is still receiving treatment at a hospital.
“Tan Sri Khalid bin Ibrahim is still receiving treatment at the Hospital. Therefore, the news that spread early tonight that Tan Sri Khalid Ibrahim has died is not true.
“Please stop any spread of false news to protect the sensitivity of the family who is indeed dealing with a difficult situation.
“Let’s pray together to make matters easier for Tan Sri Khalid,” explained the statement.
Abdul Khalid was previously reported to be in poor health and was being treated and placed in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at a hospital in the capital on July 23.
Abdul Khalid held the position of Menteri Besar of Selangor for six years from 13 March 2008 to 22 September 2014.
In addition to being a Member of Parliament for Bandar Tun Razak and a Member of the Port Klang State Assembly (ADUN), between 2008, 2013 and 2018.
He was sacked as Selangor MB by the People’s Justice Party (PKR) before the position was replaced by former PKR Deputy President, Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali.
Before assuming the position of menteri besar, he was the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Malaysianized Guthrie which is now known as Kumpulan Guthrie Bhd from 1995 to 2003.
