Ken Starr Death
Ken Starr, the prosecutor who, in 1998, investigated the relationship between Bill Clinton, then president of the United States, and Monica Lewinsky, a former White House intern, died on Tuesday (13) at the age of 76.
He died in Houston due to complications from surgery, according to his family.
Starr became known as the special prosecutor who investigated the sex and perjury scandal that led to the impeachment of then-President Clinton.
The investigation into Clinton’s affair with the former intern was presented in Congress. The text, known as “the Starr report”, was even commercialized and was a sales success.
The text described the president’s sexual encounters and argued that Clinton’s attempt to cover up the affair offered grounds for impeachment.
“According to Ms. Lewinsky, she had sex with the President on nine occasions. On all nine of those occasions, the President caressed and kissed her. She called him ‘Beautiful’; from time to time, he called her ‘Darling’, ‘Baby’ or sometimes ‘Darling’,” the prosecutor wrote.
Clinton was impeached for denying their relationship in her court testimony in December 1998. In the Senate, Clinton won a trial and remained in office.
