On Sunday afternoon, shortly after one o’clock, police received a call about a man who had been reversing his car into a parking space off High Street in Yarraville when he suddenly accelerated forward, colliding with a wall before coming to a stop not far away. The 38-year-old Werribee woman was taken to the hospital immediately but did not recover from her wounds.
The vehicle’s 48-year-old male driver, also from Werribee, was questioned by police before being released pending additional questions.
He is the focus of the inquiry. Detectives are looking into the circumstances surrounding the collision, and anyone who saw it is being asked to contact the police.
The family will make a last announcement on the burial rites. As soon as the news of Keana Mokbel’s passing spread, people were saddened and upset and began to post tributes and condolences to her on social media.
