Katie Zereski Death: Obituary, Cause Of Death, Funeral

After a valiant fight with cancer, Cathyann “Katie” Zereski, 51, of Shrewsbury, died on April 4 in peace. She was the ideal mother, sister, daughter, and friend.

At 10:00 am on Wednesday, April 12, a funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Mary’s Church, 640 Main Street, Shrewsbury. Donations to the Young-Onset Colorectal Cancer Center at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute can be made in place of floral tributes.

Everyone paid their respects, expressed sorrow on social media, and prayed for her afterlife.

“Katie Zereski, you were a bright and shining light to all that knew you. Bubbly, fun, kind and caring with a gorgeous smile! You were everyone’s cheerleader!!! It was an honour to have known you, and my heart goes out to your many friends and family. RIP.”

She was the daughter of the late Catherine (Socha) Zereski and Don Zereski, Sr., born on September 2, 1971, in Worcester, Massachusetts.

Before to moving to Switzerland with her parents, she attended Northborough public schools. Once there, she enrolled at The International School of Geneva and eventually earned a B.S. in marketing and international business from Nichols College.

In addition to managing the undergraduate rugby team’s equipment, Katie was a cheerleader in high school and college.

She worked in marketing in various capacities for several organisations, including Devon and Cornwall Development International, Ultranet Communications, RCN Corporation, Conversent Communications, Connecticut Telephone, and the Wellesley Companies. Katie has been a TALP Certified Lactation Consultant for the past ten years.

In the fitness industry, Katie discovered her true calling. At The Fitness Asylum, where she worked as a certified personal trainer, she motivated hundreds of people to accomplish feats they never thought were feasible.

The joy of Katie’s life was her two children, McKenzie and Zachary Johnson, who they shared a home with in Shrewsbury, Massachusetts. Her favourite locations were on Cape Cod, where she would visit her family’s home in North Falmouth, Massachusetts, and go shopping, sailing, or just relaxing on her preferred beach.
