Jesse Freiburger, the Marshall Elementary School administrator in Dubuque, Iowa, departed, leaving a legacy of commitment and community involvement.
Jesse Freiburger lost his fight with stomach cancer on July 2, 2023, a Tuesday. His passing was announced via a heartwarming Facebook post on the Marshall Elementary PTO Page, which also praised Jesse for his brave battle against the illness.
The viewing will occur at Hoffmann Schneider & Kitchen Funeral Home & Crematory, 3860 Asbury Road, on Thursday, July 6, 2023, from 3 PM to 8:00 PM.

Jesse Freiburger spent seventeen years—a sizable portion of his life—working for the Dubuque Community School District. He began his career as an elementary physical education teacher at Sageville and Eisenhower Elementary schools, where he could share with young kids his love of physical fitness.
Jesse showed his dedication to meeting the unique needs of students by transitioning to the position of Student Needs Facilitator at Roosevelt Middle School for five years after twelve years in the classroom. Last but not least, he accepted the position of principal at Marshall Elementary, where he significantly impacted the student body.
The educational background of Jesse Freiburger demonstrates his dedication to excellence and professional development.
He had a bachelor’s in physical education and health and a master’s in sports management. He pursued an advanced studies certificate in educational administration/principalship to further his knowledge and abilities in school leadership.
He was someone who perfectly embodied what a real leader should be. Jesse Freiburger was a remarkable individual who perfectly exemplified what it meant to have a complex personality.
He was an amazing person who continues to improve the world through his academic prowess, humanitarian endeavors, leadership abilities, humility, and love of the arts.
