Jasmine-lily, a 7-year-old child who was battling with her complicated health struggles at such a tender age and experienced the harsh realities of life, sadly met the end of her life on Sunday morning. The death of Jasmine-Lily reflects the fragility of life, leaving behind a state of devastation for her loved ones and family who stood by her throughout her journey.
What happened to Jasmine-Lily?
Jasmine-Lily was a 7-year-old child whose life took a tragic turn when she was diagnosed with cancer earlier in 2023. Jasmine-lily parents stated that Jasmine-lily complained about sore eyes and doubled vision, so the GP sent them to the pediatric department. Upon consulting, everything was seen as clear and not serious, but they were advised to undergo an
MRI scan for safe side. After her MRI scan at Wexham Park Hospital, when they reached the home, the radiology department person called them and informed them about the heartbreaking result of the MRI that Jasmine-Lily had a brain tumor. Since then, her parents have tried their best to save her life and hoped for better, healthier outcomes.
Jasmine-Lilly was admitted to Oxford Children’s Hospital, and later, the oncologist told her parents the location of the tumor was the pons/ brain stem, which has a low survival chance in children and is a rare form. The oncologist gave Jasmine-lily’s survival time of around 12 to 18 months. Jasmine-Lilly was further diagnosed with DIPG, which is now called midline glioma, in which no operation can be done, and radiotherapy is the only treatment for the tumor.
Recently, on January 4th, 2024, Jasmine’s oncologist told her parents about her deteriorated health condition. She was not even able to stand, her speech became slurred, and her muscles went involuntary, which tremors her hands and made it difficult for her to eat and drink. She had a huge buildup of fluid and mucus on her chest, which ultimately shattered his talking ability, due to which she used the type-to-talk app on her iPad to communicate with her parents.
Last week, Jasmine became so weak and fragile, but she still was fighting for her life, and the discomfort and extreme complication of cancer resulted in the end of her life on Sunday morning at 3:30 a.m. during her sleep after fighting for a year with cancer.
Jasmine has touched the hearts of so many people and left a vacuum in everyone’s heart that can’t be filled again. She was a beautiful, witty, and funny girl who lit up every ordinary moment with her radiant smile. Her life will always be celebrated with videos, songs, and pictures that depict her kind and caring soul and her courage to fight cancer and manage to smile through the most challenging phase of their life.
