Jacob Brown, a high school student from northeast Ohio, died late Sunday night in a collision that caused the Anthony Wayne Trail to be closed for a significant amount of time. As per authorities, 16-year-old Jacob Brown, a junior at Central Catholic High School near Canton, Ohio, died when his vehicle collided with a tree on the trail.
“The news of Jacob’s passing has shocked our community, which is very sad. Since Central Catholic is a little, close-knit community, our Crusader family will be greatly saddened by his passing. Our families, the faculty, and the students have been told of his death. Any student, staff member, or family member who needs them can speak with and pray with our guidance counselors, campus chaplain, and President, Father Donald King. David Oates, principal of Canton Central Catholic High School, asked for prayers for Jacob and his family.
Before the collision at roughly 9 p.m. on the Anthony Wayne Trail near Key and White Streets, Maumee police reported that Brown’s car was moving west quickly. Sunday. The car was empty.
According to officials, the small, close-knit school community at Brown’s high school will be devastated by his passing. The school has postponed events and made religious staff and advisors available to students.
