Helen Grayco, a well-known American actress and pop singer who also appeared in tours, albums, TV series, and radio programs, passed away on August 20, 2022, at the age of 97. Her son, Spike Jones Jr., told the Hollywood Reporter that his mother was battling cancer and was residing in her Los Angeles home.
She was a working actress from the 1930s through the 1960s. She was born on September 20, 1924. She gained fame when she and her husband Spike Jones co-starred on the Spike Jones Show in the 1950s and 1960s. She was the mother of Leslie Ann Jones, a Grammy-winning recording engineer, and Spike Jones Jr., most known for his work as a producer and Emmy winner. Grayco’s marriage lasted until Jones’ emphysema-related death on MAY 1, 1965.
She and Bill Rosen, the founder of the New York City eatery Gatsby’s, married in 1968. When he founded Gatsby’s restaurant, she initially traveled to New York together before following him back to Los Angeles. Rosen passed away in 2002.
She performed her very first song in 1949. Her two most recognizable and well-liked albums were After Midnight in 1957 and The Lady in Red in 1958. The latter was her last album.
