On August 29, 2023, a beloved Father, Mario J. Orrigo, sadly and unfortunately passed away, leaving behind the community in deep pain and sorrow.
His family have confirmed his death. Saint Michael Parish announced Father Mario’s sudden demise through a Facebook post that stated:
“Saint Patrick Parish in Stoneham sorrowfully announces the death of its beloved Pastor, Father Mario J. Orrigo. Fortified by the Sacraments of the Church and supported by the prayers of thousands in his last months of life, Father Mario departed this world in the early hours of the morning of August 29, 2023, the Feast of the Passion of Saint John the Baptist.”
The cause of death and why the person left this world has not been made public; perhaps the family will share it later.
The officials gave no information on the funeral or obituary.
Mario is an ideal example of undying love and commitment as a father. He nurtures his kids, teaching them the virtues of kindness, perseverance, and empathy with each soft action and careful talk.
His persistent presence provides a climate of security and progress, enabling his children to develop into self-assured, kind people.
In one of his last messages to the people of Saint Patrick Parish, Father Mario implored everyone to pray the Rosary daily and wear the Brown Scapular of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel. We now entrust this good priest of Jesus Christ to the Mercy of our Heavenly Father, and we implore the Blessed Virgin Mary, under the title of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel, to console those who mourn and to escort her devoted son, Father Mario, into the eternal banquet of Heaven.

Anyone who knows me knows I don’t deal with loss very well. Today, I mourn the loss of a very good man. Father Mario Orrigo passed away this morning.
Father Mario presided over my Dad’s services and helped comfort my family after he passed away. His words were genuinely heartfelt and gave us the strength to move forward. My Dad admired Father Mario so much. They connected so very well.
Father Mario was also an important role model for my nephews as they grew up in Saint Patrick Parish and School. They are blessed to have had him in their lives. We are all blessed to have known him. His loss leaves a giant hole in our hearts.
