Although we did not have the privilege of knowing her personally, we understand how devastating this loss must be for her loved ones and the Reedsburg/Wis. Dell’s Youth Hockey family.”

Accident Details:

The incident happened just before 7:30 a.m. on Highway 23/33 near Northwoods Drive, according to the Sauk County Sheriff’s Office, as the student, Gurney, was waiting for a school bus. The bus had to stop and move into the westbound lane to pick up a student.

Upon further investigation by the department, it was discovered that the car struck the rear right side of the bus, drove down a driveway on the north side of the highway, hit the student, and stopped in a ditch.

While a crew from the University of Wisconsin MedFlight and emergency responders from several neighborhood organizations gave it their all.

The goal of “Goals for Gurney,” a GoFundMe page started by Evelyn’s friends, is to raise $1,000 in her honor so that her family is possible to pay for the funeral services.
