About Emily Morgan:
Before becoming a reporter and moving to positions like Wales and West of England Correspondent, Political Correspondent, and Health Editor, Emily began her career with ITV News as a producer. She was based in Westminster for five years. She was eager to take on the new task after recently being elevated to Health and Science Editor.
Emily oversaw ITV News’ Coronavirus coverage in her capacity as Health Editor. She reported from the front lines of hospitals during the pandemic and created numerous investigations into issues including racial discrimination, PPE failures, and Long Covid, among others.
It is difficult to report on deaths, especially in significant numbers, Emily said in 2021 in her reflection on the difficulties she had covering the pandemic. Every death is not a statistic, though. But with so many, there’s a worry that they’ll all be combined into one considerable number.
“Such sad news… ITV News journalist Emily Morgan died at just 45 following a short battle with lung cancer. Emily was their Health and Science Correspondent and was particularly praised for her courageous reporting during the Covid pandemic.
In an article published in 2020, Emily urged “her fellow Brightonians to not panic or demonize those who brought the pandemic to our beloved city.”
We’re sending love to Emily’s family and friends.”
“Goodness. I just heard about ITV News’ Health and Science Editor, Emily Morgan, passing at just 45. Dreadful.”
