The Senior Associate Athletics Director of Purdue University’s National Athletic Trainers’ Association passed tragically suddenly, and the organization is in sorrow.

On June 21, 2023, Doug Boersma, a native of Highland, Indiana, and a lifelong resident of West Lafayette, Indiana, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday.

Many are in mourning following the demise of Doug Boersma, a former football player for Purdue University and the current head athletic trainer for Bowling Green State University. It is known that Boersma’s loved ones will attend his funeral despite the fact that his obituary has not yet been made public.

The family has not officially disclosed the cause of death at publication.

About Doug Boersma:

In 1999, he graduated from the University of Kentucky with a master’s in health promotion after working there for two years as a graduate assistant.

After four years, he agreed to take the position as head coach at Bowling Green State.

In addition to instructing at BGSU’s School of Human Movement, Sport, and Leisure Studies, he worked as the education coordinator for the Mid-American Conference Sports Medicine Association.

The Sebo Athletic Centre and the Stroh Centre, both of which are located in Bowling Green, Ohio, are two examples of cutting-edge sports medical facilities that Boersma contributed in constructing.
