Darius Campbell Danesh, a singer, actor, former pop idol candidate, and theatre star, was discovered dead on August 11 at the age of 41 in his Rochester, Minnesota, apartment, according to his relatives. It is still uncertain what caused the death.
“It is with great sadness that we inform you that Darius Campbell Danesh has passed away. On August 11, Darius was seen unconscious in bed at his home in Rochester, Minnesota”.The local medical examiner’s office declared him dead in the afternoon.
Having studied English Literature and Philosophy at the University of Edinburgh, Campbell Danesh was born in Glasgow in 1980 to a Scottish mother and an Iranian father.
In 2004, Darius Campbell met Natasha Henstridge, a Canadian singer, actor, and former model, at a crosswalk and fell in love at first sight. They had numerous ups and downs throughout his seven-year relationship with Natasha. They patched things up and married in a private ceremony at Santa Barbara’s renowned San Ysidro Ranch in February 2011. But their relationship did not survive long, as they split up in 2018. Despite not having his children, Darius adored his ex-wife’s children as if they were his own. After splitting up with Natasha, he struggled because he couldn’t go a day without talking to her kids. He was incredibly bonded to them.
In 2001, he entered ITV’s ground-breaking talent competition Popstars, performing a theatrical version of Britney Spears’ Baby One More Time. A year later, he competed on the first season of Pop Idol, finishing third in a final with more than 13 million viewers behind Will Young and Gareth Gates.
A few months after winning Popstar to Operastar, judged by Mexican-born tenor Rolando Villazon and Welsh soprano Katherine Jenkins, he was cast in his first significant opera role in a brand-new production of Carmen at London’s O2 Arena.
A Sunday Times bestseller, Sink or Swim, was a 2003 book by Darius about his experience working in the music business.
Darius’ net worth is reportedly between $1 and $5 million, although many other reports indicate it is closer to $16 million. The exact statistics are still unknown. His acting profession, which he started in 2000, has contributed the most of his financial earnings.
