Daniel Long Death: Citizen of North Wilkesboro, Died Unexpectedly

A citizen of North Wilkesboro, North Carolina, Daniel Long, a firefighter, has unexpectedly passed away, leaving his family and friends in grief and mourning.

His death was announced through a social media post on Wednesday, 9 Aug 2023.

“Today, we mourn the loss of one of our own. Daniel Long (Fridge) came to Millers Creek over a month ago to work and help with our daytime coverage. He was also a North Wilkesboro, Wilkesboro, and Ronda FDFD member.

RIP, Brother, we’ll take it from here.”

The actual reason behind his death isn’t known at this moment. He passed away, leaving behind family, friends, and other loved ones who will always miss him and treasure his memories.

He was raised and continued to reside in North Wilkesboro, North Carolina. He finished his secondary school at Wilkes Central High School. He went to Wilkes Community College to study.

Daniel was employed at the North Wilkesboro Fire Department and was affectionately referred to as “Fridge” by his friends and coworkers in the EMS or Fire departments. As a Junior Firefighter, he began working for the North Wilkesboro Fire Department in 2018.

As is common in the fire service, the memories of Fridge will turn into stories that will be shared while sitting around the station. Those who knew him will laugh again as other firefighters who were never fortunate enough to have known him learn about a firefighter that left us too soon but left memories in everyone’s hearts and minds.
