In a tragic turn of events, an incident has unfolded in Palos, Illinois, where Palos police are grappling with the investigation of the suicide case that occurred in ComEd tower on Thursday morning. How did the incident occur?
The incident occurred on Thursday when a man reportedly hanged himself from the Commonwealth Edison Tower located near 78th Avenue and 101st Street. The incident was then followed by a swift response from the law enforcement authorities, and the images of the incident have been circulated on social media, which shows the prompt reaction of the police and fire agency and the ComEd crew’s presence at the incident scene.
According to the Cook County Medical Examiner records, the victim was identified as a 40-year-old man who was transported from the location and was declared dead at around 8:21 a.m. However, the cause and circumstances of the deceased have not been disclosed by authorities. Still, Palos Hills Police confirmed the death appeared to be the apparent suicide to the Cook County medical examiner.
The rumor about the identity of the man who committed suicide had circulated that the victim was a student of Stagg High School, which was later proved to be not true.
The Conrady Junior principal, Adrienne Muniz, and the North Palos District 117 Supt. Jeannie Stachowiak sent an alert message to the parents of the Conrady student that some students had seen the suicide incident after scenes on their way to the school on the school bus. Also, she stated that the social workers would be available to counsel and support the student.
The investigation is actively underway by the Palos Police Department in collaboration with other law enforcement authorities to identify the cause and contributing factors that led to the death of the man. The end appeared to be a suicide, but a thorough investigation is crucial for the proper conclusion of the incident.
