Chrissy Rouse Accident: Cause of Death – What Happened?

British Superbike promoter announced the death of Chrissy Rouse, aged just 26, who suffered a violent high side last Sunday during British Superbike Race 3 at Donington Park

Terrible news upsets the British Superbike paddock. Chrissy Rouse (Crowe Performance BMW standard bearer) died following a serious head injury sustained in the nasty accident he was involved in last weekend during BSB Race 3 at Donington Park, home to the penultimate round of the season.

The accident

The accident occurred on the first lap of the third as well as the final scheduled race of the British Superbike. Coming out of the Goddards hairpin, Chrissy Rouse ran into a ruinous highside, and was then run over by an oncoming (unidentified) pilot. The television footage has never shown anything about the dynamics, except the initial high side phase.

Too serious injuries

Stabilized and put in a pharmacological coma at the medical center of the circuit, he was subsequently transferred for further investigations at the Queens Medical Center / University Hospital of Nottingham, where in recent days he underwent emergency neurosurgery for the significant head trauma reported. In today’s early afternoon, however, there was nothing for the 26-year-old to do and unfortunately, he died as reported in the press release issued by the promoter of the MSVR championship.

Unconditional love for racing

Originally from Newcastle-Upon-Tyne, Rouse started riding motorcycles at the tender age of seven, before trying his hand at motocross and quickly becoming an expert rider and enjoying some success. In 2008 he moved on to track racing, competing in the Fab Racing Series and moving on to the Aprilia Superteens championship the following year, winning the title in his second season. From his past in the British 125cc, Rouse dominated the single-make Triumph Triple Challenge in 2013 with ten wins and numerous podium finishes. 2020 champion of the British Superstock 1000 with the Crowe Performance BMW team, this year he reunited with the same team to face his first full season in the BSB, where he occupied the 18th place in the championship with 18 points to his credit.

Our deepest condolences to Chrissy Rouse’s family, friends and team members.
